Role description:

The Product Development Manager directs product development and ensures high return on investment (ROI.) by translating ideas into strategy and features. The position is responsible for following product development from start to finish, leads the product development team and coordinating with all departments including client relations, marketing and other teams involved in the development, delivery and maintenance of Company brands. The position is tasked with Incorporating feedback and input from customers, partners and in-house teams on product strategy and finding ways to expand product market reach and brand profitability.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement product strategies consistent with company vision
  • Collect and analyse feedback from customers, stakeholders and other teams to shape requirements, features and end products
  • Work with senior management to create product plans and roadmaps
  • Lead product team and coordinate cross-functional teams
  • Produce and review product requirements documents (PRD)
  • Create Product launch and/or revitalisation campaigns
  • Ensure products and releases are launched correctly and on schedule
  • Make creative recommendations to expand product base and vision
  • Suggest ways to track product use and impact on end users
  • Collect metrics and collate reports for executive management that tracks product ROI, Client engagement and effects of product enhancements.

 

Duties:

  • Maintain a consumer-first mindset when it comes to improving current products or introducing new products and processes.
  • Understand and fully embrace The Company’s go-to market approach and mentality and have the ability to translate this into day to day actions for the production team
  • Create, collaborate with and lead a flexible, detail-oriented, fast-paced team environment
  • Strategize and plan to map back to specific goals
  • Lead cross-functional projects with many team members and divisions
  • Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while meeting and exceeding deadlines
  • Have a strong personality but still comfortable being a team player
  • Embrace transparency and shifting priorities, while learning from each decision.Define roadmap for company platforms with a global viewpoint, in collaboration with architecture, professional services and strategic partners
  • Design roadmap into product requirements and set product/backlog prioritization with a balance of near-term deliverables and longer-term investment
  • As Product Owner, provide clear product vision to the scrum teams and execute on roadmap with clear business and engineering milestones
  • Effectively communicate strategies to senior leaders and development teams
  • Align understanding and expectations in real-time with inhouse and outsource partners and teams throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Translate user-centered research into design validation requirements that affect new product design
  • Provide focused, clear, and concise analytical feedback in a timely manner informed by experimental data, statistical analyses, and data from 3rd party sources
  • Support product and consumer claims development by challenging the product positioning along with setting clear, measurable targets that enable claims substantiation
  • Develop user-relevant design targets – KPIs and CSIs (Key Performance Indicators and Consumer Satisfaction Indicators) – for product performance and user experience
  • Provide appropriately-detailed communication summaries and presentations for management as required on a weekly basis or as requested.
  • Mentor and grow department talent and personnel.
  • Create and maintain clear succession plans for the department.
  • Work with Human Resources to ensure department retains and develops the best possible talent and plans to ensure resources within the department are adequate at all times.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on product management experience and commercial experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in product lifecycle management
  • Knowledge of Scrum and Agile
  • Strong hands-on product management experience
  • Ideally have worked as a Software Engineer (preferably platform, backend, full stack)
  • Strong ability to juggle between strategy, execution and operational activities
  • Self-driven, ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth, uncertain situations
  • Strong communication, negotiation, collaboration skills
  • Passion for quality and simplicity in solutions
  • Performance mindset, and understanding how to quantify and improve
  • A willingness to keep learning new tools and languages
  • Ability to meet deadlines and think strategically
  • Self-directed team player with demonstrated leadership potential
  • Strong communicator with both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Able to help clients and teammates make good decisions

  • Understanding and desire to provide the best customer experience possible
  • BSc/MSc in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
