Head of PR

Location: Hungary, Budapest
About your role: We are looking for an experienced and result oriented Head of PR & Communications to work full-time from our Budapest office managing all group brands’ internal and communications strategies and global Communications & Content teams.
Your MISSION: To grow sales, signups and subscribers through getting media coverage in tier 1 medias globally (print, online news, radio, morning shows, TV, magazines etc.) with the highest brand density through managing a team of local PR managers in key markets (USA, Nordics, Benelux, LATAM, East EU, Hungary) as well as ensure optimal brand management according to set brand guides through optimal communication and potential crisis management.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Be responsible for increasing leads, sales and web visits globally by leading a global team to get coverage locally and build strong personal relationships with key journalists in all top medias in all markets
- Create, devise and lead the implementation of the PR and Communication strategies for all our brands globally and in key markets, including department and team members’ goals, budget and tactics to drive ROI
- Build strong relationships with key journalists in top medias, key bloggers and influencers
- Manage the CEOs branding and communication (interviews, crisis management, social etc)
- Ensure strong ROI on the PR team
- Goal setting and weekly evaluation cycles
- Weekly editorial meetings with PR, Content and Social media team members
- Assure local PR freelancers also build valuable relationships with key journalists in their local markets to increase brand awareness and get free-cost coverage
- Brainstorming newsworthy ideas aligned with our products USPs
- Create and manage all content for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations on an ongoing basis
- Writing/translating pitch/press releases
- Manage media inquiries and interview requests
- Pitch/sell in press pitch/press releases
- Support local market public resistance
- Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an ongoing basis
- Responsible for creating the Social Media strategy for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn and managing community managers with the aim to build, drive and support social media presence & engagement
- Develop & maintain a pitch list of Top 200 Global Alexa Rank media as well as Tier 1 local media
- In charge of managing the PR, Social Media and Content team and reporting weekly results and actions to the management group.
- Responsible for tracking PR results and global coverage
Your Experience & Skills:
- BS/BA in Public Relations, Communications or relevant field
- Proven experience as Head of Communications, PR director
- Experience in building regional strategies
- Proven track record in leadership skills
- Ability to grow and manage an international (and remote) team
- Strong media contacts in your local market (more markets desirable) and the ability to create and nurture on a daily basis personal relationships with top journalists
- High level of creativity and an extrovert and positive personality: a creative mind and storytelling skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills in English and Hungarian. More languages desirable
- Solid understanding of project management principles and outstanding organisational and planning abilities
- Strong crisis management and branding skills
- Proven experience in copywriting and editing for PR and Social Media
- Experience in web design and content production is a plus
- Working knowledge of MS Office; photo and video-editing software is an asset
- Attention to detail and a problem solving attitude
- Analytical personality: be creative and also have the know-how to drive results/reporting
- Visual intelligence and a picky eye for design
